Dr. Hermann graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Bradley University in 1998. In 2003, he earned his Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois, There he was an honor student receiving awards for clinical assistance and practice management.

Dr. Tyson J. Herrmann has provided eye care in Decatur for the past eight years.  He joined the Center for Sight in May 2010.  Dr. Herrmann is a therapeutically licensed optometrist.  He brings experience in treating a full spectrum of patients, ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations.  He provides primary eye care examinations with treatment and management of ocular diseases including glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and dry eye syndrome; pre- and post-operative care; comprehesive contact lens services including both rigid gas permeable and soft contact lenses for extended wear, color enhancement, presbyopia, astigmatism, dry eyes, and keratoconus.
